Narrow Aisle Forklift
Used to both lower and lift loaded pallets from storage areas that are high is a narrow aisle forklift. This kind is recommended for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, like for instance retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering very simple.
Generally, the operator of this particular type of forklift stands up inside a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift normally has three tires: two in the front, and one in the rear. This configuration allows for easy and fast maneuvering. There are some versions of these forklifts that are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment could pivot to the sides, allowing the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the entire machine. The sit-down version generally has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered with an electric engine. Machines that are electrically powered do not produce exhaust fumes and are quiet, making them the preferred option for closed places like for example retail spaces. Several lifts come with a gas engine or a diesel engine. Nevertheless, the diesel version is not recommended to be utilized indoors as it could be quite noisy and produce exhaust.
